A brand-new programme to the Gymshark placement programme, the data science placement student will become an integral part of Gymshark’s Data team. Our Data team collaborate across all business functions to support data-driven decision making through the provision of customer-centric and commercially led data insights and solutions.

Placement Start Date: 1st July, 2024
Placement Duration: 13 Months
Location: Solihull, West Midlands, UK

Assessment Centre Date: 15th December (At Gymshark HQ, Solihull)
What you’ll learn:
Across the year you will gain exposure of:
- Cloud Data & Analytics concepts and platforms
- The design, build, test, and adoption of shallow Machine Learning algorithms
- Principles of AI architecture – cost, infrastructure, and model considerations
- MLOps – machine learning operations as the cornerstone of taking a data science PoC to production
- Stakeholder management and collaboration
- End-to-end data science project delivery and management
- Innovating with data science – framing a business problem to a data science solution and building PoCs
You will support on business-as-usual activities such as the maintenance and appraisal of operational metrics of existing shallow machine learning models in the business; supporting with ad hoc data science/analytics requests to provide insights to business stakeholders; data project delivery and collaborating with the wider data team contributing to larger strategic projects.

For a Data Science placement with us, you may also have:
- Curiosity and passion for data and AI.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Python, R or SQL
- Experience of designing and building shallow machine learning algorithms
- Problem-solving nature

If successful, you will be invited to an in-person assessment centre at Gymshark HQ, Solihull, on 15th December.
TO BE ELIGIBLE, YOU MUST:
✅ Be currently studying an undergraduate degree at university
✅ Be able to take 13 months out to do a year in industry before going back for your final year
✅ Have the right to work in the UK (unfortunately we cannot provide sponsorship for placement students)
✅ Be happy to work from our HQ campus in Solihull, West Midlands
✅ Be ready to start from July 2024
