A career in Quality Supply Chain where none of us stand still
An analytical chemistry placement will give you hands on practical application of analytical techniques and data analysis, as well as supporting other operations within the laboratory environment.
You’ll be excited by the thought of:
- Learning techniques both common across industry (HPLC) and also more niche (IC) which provide a wide set of experience in a typical QC laboratory
- Undertaking key project which delivers clear business benefit combined with a scientific view to provide an improvement to laboratory productivity, quality performance or cost.
- Joining a rapidly paced team in a fast moving consumer goods company and understanding the importance of good communication, organisation and prioritisation to ensure work is completed to deadline and right first time.
What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?
You’ll be contributing to ensuring our consumer healthcare products are manufactured to stringent quality and safety standards by;
- Learning how to test a variety of products using a range of equipment from pH and viscosity meters to HPLC, Ion Chromatography and Raman/FTIR spectroscopy.
- Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and being compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Performing equipment performance checks and calibration.
- Creating, reviewing and validating methods as well as updating laboratory documentation and writing technical reports.
- Creating testing and auditing cleaning protocols
- To take part in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement projects

Must be studying an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or chemistry-related degrees
You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree, but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You may be expected to provide evidence from your university to show you will be an undergraduate student for the duration of the placement year and they are supportive of your placement.
