We are now recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Development Surveyor to join the Development Team as part of the Land & Assets branch of the Hampshire 2050 directorate.

    The role

You’ll be joining a specialist in-house advisory team comprising Development Surveyors, Town Planners and Urban Designers who, with both internal and external specialist consultant support, collectively work on a range of exciting workstreams and projects. These include:

    • a major Strategic Land Programme of 12 sites across Hampshire with the potential to deliver over 10,000 new homes with associated infrastructure and facilities,
    • a Capital Receipts Programme of disposal sites of varying size,
    • supporting service client programmes, portfolio and/or individual property rationalisations, and the provision of other corporate estate property and valuation advice.

As part of the Hampshire 2050 directorate, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary cohort working for the County Council and our partner organisations, including other local authorities and public sector bodies across the southeast region. The County Council is responsible for the safe stewardship of around 10,000 buildings on 1,000 sites and 8,500 hectares of land.

Within the Development Surveying Team, you will assist in the provision of professional property advice and with the negotiation, agreement and reporting of land and property projects and transactions. You will also be required to support the asset management of the land and property portfolio, providing timely recommendations to deliver policy objectives.

Additionally, you will commit to undertake and pass the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) at the earliest, appropriate opportunity.

    What we can offer you

You can be confident of a rewarding career with Hampshire County Council, and we are committed to supporting your growth whilst you are here, including specific APC support through your RICS sector pathway. We have a strong track record of APC success, and you will benefit from exposure to a variety of project work whilst imbedded within a supportive team that is invested in your growth.

We offer a wide range of attractive employee benefits, generous annual leave entitlements, and career progression opportunities in return for your dedication to bettering the lives of Hampshire’s residents.

Although contractually office based in Winchester, you will have the opportunity to work flexibly from home as well as collaboratively in the office to suit the business needs.
