About us

Oxfordshire Pension Fund provides the administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for Oxfordshire County Council and over 350 other employers. The LGPS is a national scheme, and we are one of around 89 funds across England and Wales. We are a team of around 33 employees, divided into 4 sub teams each dealing with our own specific areas of work.

We have two roles, one sits within the Benefit Administration team who deal with the calculations and administration of members LGPS pension benefits; the other sits within the Systems team who administer the Pensioner payroll, Firefighters Pension schemes, data quality, and system support.

About the role

The main duties are:

  • To calculate and administer the benefits of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and (or) Fire Service Pension Schemes in line with Scheme Regulations and other legislation.
  • To ensure that data held on the pension system (Altair) is updated accurately in line with the relevant regulations, data protection legislation and good practice.
  • To provide an excellent service to all members, employers, and other customers
  • Develop knowledge, skills and expertise in Pension' administration which will be the focus of your work.

About you

  • You will have an aptitude for learning, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • You will be able to organise and prioritise your workload, work on your own initiative and adopt a proactive approach to any work assigned.
  • You will have, GCSE's grade 9-4 / A-C, in English and Maths or equivalent and experience of working in an office environment (although this is not essential)
