Hampshire Scientific Service is a Public Analyst and Official Food and Feed Control Laboratory which provides ISO 17025 accredited testing services and consultancy to Hampshire County Council departments and other Local Authorities.

    The role

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for suitably qualified chemistry graduates to train to become a Public Analyst. Public Analysts are highly skilled scientists who make up the frontline of the UKs Public Protection Service and are statutorily appointed to test food and animal feed for compliance with safety and standards requirements. Our training programme will build on a chemistry degree and involve studying and working with Public Analysts in all areas of the business to develop practical and knowledge competencies in chemistry, microbiology, microscopy and the law relating to food, water, agricultural fertilisers and feeding stuffs.
