    The role

    Upon completion of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) professional accountancy qualification and being admitted to the Institute as a Qualified Member, you will be offered a permanent Accountant position within the finance service with opportunities to progress to Group Accountant and beyond.

    Reporting to one of the three Heads of Finance you will be responsible for providing a wide range of duties as part of our team. Duties will include:

    • Supporting Finance Officers with budget setting, budget monitoring and provision of financial advice to budget managers

    Providing financial support to budget holders over a range of services and projects to fulfil their service delivery objectives effectively and efficiently.

    • Supporting the closure of accounts and input into the preparation of Statement of Accounts and external returns
    • Supporting the Treasury Management function

    About you

    Candidates must meet the CIPFA entry level requirements. It is anticipated that the successful candidates will be appointed at Band 9, however candidates may be appointed at a higher Band depending on qualification and previous experience as detailed in the Person Specification.
