We are on the hunt for an Junior Account Manager to join our award winning Recruitment commercial division at Haymarket Media Group.

The Recruitment team have significantly grown revenues over the last two years with consecutive year on year growth and are looking for someone to continue to drive the success the department has already seen by building credible relationships, retaining clients and revenues, and generating growth through sales from our product portfolio; selling multi-channel creative solutions, partnered content, digital branding, data-driven products, and traditional advertising.

As an Junior Account Manager you will become one of our recruitment specialists that will manage a portfolio of leading media titles like Campaign, PRWeek, Third Sector and more. Our brands are niche, yet globally trusted and respected in their specialist industries.

As a recruitment specialist, you will become the face of our brands, advising our established and new staffing client base on their marketing needs and how to engage with relevant professionals.

Key responsibilities 

Your role will typically involve:

  • You will be responsible and accountable for effectively managing, developing and retaining your client base along with growing our existing client portfolio. Your primary goal will be to build effective relationships, retain revenue and generate growth
  • Applying a consultative approach via calls/meetings in order to nurture long-term partnerships through exemplary client servicing of both new and existing clients, and generating sales of our product portfolio & solutions across partnered content, digital branding solutions, data-led products and traditional advertising
  • You will be expected to convert incoming leads at a high rate and high opportunity value, along with adopting a consistent new business approach to grow monthly revenue streams
  • Operate with full autonomy in a 360º role - maintaining and growing your existing account base, whilst retaining and fostering your own new business relationships through the full sales cycle
  • To work closely & collaborate with your team members across sales and marketing to ensure team strategy is understood and you are all working as one. Additional collaboration with external teams is advised to assist with client and commercial development
  • Meet personal & team KPI’s and revenue targets set by the commercial director to ensure business and professional development objectives are achieved.

What does success look like in this role?

To flourish and succeed in this role, you will:

  • Grow revenue from existing accounts and have a high conversion rate of incoming opportunities
  • Become a knowledgeable specialist of our leading industry titles, the audience's they serve, and how our suite of products and services effectively grow client reach and success 
  • Adopt a solutions-led and problem solving approach to your sales activity and client communications
  • Generate a high percentage of revenue through our suite of premium solutions - content, data-driven products and lead-generation
  • Increase the number of contracts & partnerships within your client split, whilst educating them on how to diversify and optimise their involvement through any and all available channels
  • Maintain effective coverage of existing client base and consistently hit personal KPI’s and revenue targets
  • Proactively take interest in wider business and team initiatives, whilst bringing your own unique experience and perspective to the table. We want to encourage commercial excellence not just through sales, but by encouraging inclusivity which could have substantial impact in influencing strategic direction of our products, services and even operational efficiencies
  • Manage your time effectively to ensure workload and administration is complete on time, as well as proactively taking ownership of your career development through training, workshops and one-to-ones with management.

Your skills, experience and knowledge

We are looking for someone who has already gained a proven level of sales experience, has a passion in the art of sales and a desire to grow within the role and at Haymarket. In addition:

  • Proven commercial experience, ideally in media or B2B
  • Strong skills in persuasion, negotiation and closing
  • You can work under pressure, manage time effectively and have strong organisational skills
  • You are a good communicator and have excellent listening skills
  • You are target driven and goal-orientated
  • You can work autonomously, use your own initiative and excel as part of a team
  • You have good attention to detail, can solve problems and seek solutions
  • You have the desire to learn new skills
