At Hearst UK consumer revenues are a fast-growing part of the business and one with ambitious plans for further growth, driven by both our existing product portfolio and new product launches. We have a vacancy within our growing Customer Acquisitions team, and more specifically within the optimisation team, for an Optimisation Executive to support us in driving growth across subscriptions and memberships. In this role, you will be responsible for E-commerce optimisations through AB testing, analysis, development, and QA.

About the role

Conversion journey management and optimisation

  • Work with the optimisation lead on the website maintenance and ongoing campaign changes in hearstmagazines.co.uk
  • Work with the Optimisation Lead to drive the customer performance growth for Hearstmagazines.co.uk – the subscription webstore for Hearst UK
  • Assisting in the delivery of the development roadmap across Hearstmagazines.co.uk working with CDS Global and Purenet.
  • Assist the Delivery Manager in the roadmap for both the BAU development and optimisation of the customer journey. Identifying areas of opportunity, building business cases, and managing changes from concept through to evaluation.
  • Support the wider team on web migrations, QA testing, and audits. Always challenging the way we do things with a view to streamlining processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with the acquisitions team ensuring they are kept up to date with roll outs of features, functionality and CRO testing across our website.
  • Working with wider stakeholders, assist in writing up detailed client requirements in SOWs including the outlining of objectives, ROI, functionality/changes required, and impact in sales.
  • Manage the QA/UAT progress report ensuring the business is kept up to date with progress and blockers.
  • Work with 3rd party e-commerce agencies ensuring they are fully aligned with Hearst UK business goals, KPIs and objectives.
  • Assist the acquisitions team with the E-commerce recovery strategy across exit overlays, abandoned basket email / DM, and browser pop ups.

Reporting and analysis

  • An advanced user of GA4 you’ll use this as a primary data source to analyse a wide range of areas from traffic conversion, site conversion, checkout conversion, and platform behaviours to provide insight for optimising funnel performance.
  • Monitor website analytics against agreed KPIs to ensure business targets are exceeded and where appropriate identify areas of opportunity, implementing corrective action where relevant, while
  • communicating performance to the wider business.
  • Monitor sales daily/weekly/monthly ensuring the business is on track to hit the targets across all channels and brands. Work with customer teams to highlight differences across different cohorts and provide results on their campaigns.
  • Be able to articulate highlights and summarise key metrics from detailed raw data, translating raw analytics into a story with actionable insights.
  • Identification of trends and user patterns to identify and quantify customer habits and behaviour to recommend modifications to maximise traffic, reduce abandonment rate, and increase sales.
  • Provide a regular suite of reports to the department and key business stakeholders on new initiatives, data insights and key results.
  • Ability to translate raw analytics into a story with actionable insights and next steps for senior management.

  • Previous experience working with a CMS (Adobe Commerce or similar) (desirable)
