    *This is a three month internship with the opportunity to become an analyst within the team at the end of the programme.

    Responsibilities

    As an Intern – Portfolio Management, Europe with Hines, you will work closely with the leadership in the Portfolio Management division of Investment Management. The primary role is to support the management of real estate funds and separate accounts in the relevant region in collaboration with local Hines Asset management teams across Europe. Working across various asset classes and investment platforms, the Intern will assist the PM team covering portfolio management aspects including, but not limited to: supporting the execution of new investments and implementation of business plans, managing fund-level operations, preparing reporting for investors and dispositions. The role will require strong quantitative skills with high attention to detail. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Support IM and regional teams on investment execution and due diligence from a portfolio management perspective
    • Perform detailed review and have full ownership of underwriting/financial models in order to provide fund-level considerations
    • Monitoring business plan actuals, ensuring consistency with underwriting; investor’s approvals and fund-level goals
    • Prepare liquidity plans and cash flow analysis
    • Oversee the execution of the asset-level business plans led by regional teams and ensure they are implemented according to the fund requirements and restrictions
    • Analise and make recommendations to Fund teams regarding new asset-level initiatives (letting, CAPEX, financing, appointment of service providers, hold-sell analysis, etc.)
    • Review and coordinate with Finance team the accuracy of quarterly asset reports from regional teams/service providers and implementation of updates financial models
    • Produce investor reporting, support investor communication, forecasting and ad hoc investor queries. Assist in the implementation of fund level initiatives in collaboration with central Hines departments (Tax, Legal, Finance), country teams and external advisors
    • Support transaction processes led by regional teams (due diligence, legal documentation, funds flow, underwriting) in collaboration with IM and Central Hines departments
    • Presenting recommendations and liaising with different stakeholders

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:         

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or real estate qualification from an accredited institution 
    • One or more experience in a commercial real estate investment, finance or research function
    • Strong communication, listening and organizational skills
    • Strong report writing skills/presentation skills
    • Strong analytics skills and proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Self-starter
    • Positive attitude and team player who embraces collaboration
    • Flexible approach to work
    • Accurate under time pressure and exceptional attention to detail
