As an international specialist insurer we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products. We insure the unique and the interesting with our work being underpinned by a culture that encourages us to challenge convention and always look for a better way of doing things. The London Market Pricing team’s role is to influence and shape our underwriting strategy in order to drive profitability. The team is commercially focussed and aims to have a positive influence on top and bottom line performance.
As part of our Pricing team, embedded within the Marine, Energy and Specialty division, you will be working with underwriters from across the division to help them make more informed decisions. This might include: modelling expected claims from a new windfarm construction; building tools to better understand risks to satellites in space; or figuring out how the geo-political landscape might impact our business in the coming years.
The role
We are looking for an ambitious, innovative individual who is eager to learn and thrives on ambiguity. We want an individual who can develop a high level of technical expertise, who can work around a problem and communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders. You will need to confidently make sound business decisions and be able to back these up with relevant facts and figures. You will need to find solutions to problems where there isn’t an established approach, think on your feet, influence other decision makers and collaborate across multiple teams. You should also be inquisitive, eager to learn and passionate about making a difference and adding value to the team.
