DAI is seeking a HR Intern for a 12 month placement starting on the 2nd September 2024. To join our busy HR and Talent Acquisition Team to gain a full and rounded experience of working within a complex and varied HR Team within a global development company. The opportunities and roles performed will vary in accordance with business priorities atany given time. This will be a full-time, one year fixed term contract. The position will be based in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. You will be required to attend the office at least 3 days a week during the duration of your internship.
Key tasks, duties and responsibilities
- To provide administrative support to the Talent Acquisition function, this will include pre-employment checks (references, vetting, right to work checks and more) as well as facilitating onboarding and creating and maintaining induction schedules for UK and European based staff.
- To monitor the MOST_EU@dai.com inbox and manage actions on MOST process by creating and updating uniqueIDs for staff in Oracle system upon request in a timely manner and liaising with relevant IT team.
- To provide administrative support on our Job Profiling platform (Korn Ferry) which includes the production of SuccessProfiles, job descriptions, interview guides, salary benchmarking etc.
- To support project compliance activities with IR35 legislation which includes liaising with our third-party supplier, tosupport the compliant employment/contracting of project staff. Update and maintenance of the IR35 schedule andsix-monthly retesting to ensure ongoing compliance.
- To monitor the EuropeHRreference inbox and provide support to team colleagues in coordinating and managing responses to information requests, and requests for personal information under the Data Protection Act.
- To liaise with colleagues across the organisation in order to seek information and provide advice.
- Preparation of standard HR letters such as successful probation, resignation acknowledgement, eye test letters etc.
- Liaise with UK Communication team to format and upload on DAIConnect final Weekly News documentation for internal distribution.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining Organisation Charts and active involvement inmaintaining the internalHR SharePoint page.
- Quarterly collation of up-to-date project headcount data which includes but not limited to sending request to global project location data providers for current and accurate figures.
- Take on ad hoc projects and see them through to conclusion, as required by the HR Team.

- Maintenance of confidentiality of information; it will be necessary to comply with requirementsrelated to the Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulation.

Essential
- Seeking a year’s placement part-way through a 3–4-year undergraduate degree in relevant discipline e.g Human Resources, international development; business; management, or similar relevant discipline.
- Demonstrable understanding of and interest in Human Resources and working in aninternational/multi-culturalenvironment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Pro-active, assertive, and action-oriented
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task work within deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Confidentiality, integrity and sensitivity is a key component working within HR.
- Experience in any HRIS or payroll systems advantageous but not essential.
The salary offered for this role will be £21,713. DAI also offers a generous benefits package and there are several everyday perks that keep us happy and motivated.
