At HMGCC, we like to explore the limits of technology and discover the unexpected. Our systems help protect national security – both at home and overseas. If you’ve got the skills we’re looking for, you’ll find a place in our diverse team.

    Your role

Working alongside a team of Developers on software projects and products, you’ll come up with innovative solutions which help increase reliability and collaborate with colleagues on module design to assess and fix problems.

    What you need

You’ll be comfortable designing, developing and testing software in one of C, C++, C#, or Java. And developing for at least one of Windows, Linux, macOS or Android. A degree, or equivalent work experience, would be beneficial. So would PowerShell, Perl or Bash scripting skills, the ability to understand and debug others’ software, and experience of Unit Testing and Static Analysis. If you only specialise in one language and you’re not familiar with all platforms – don’t worry. You’ll learn all of this and more on-the-job. And, with 10% of your time dedicated to researching new tech, you’ll be constantly learning new skills.

    What we offer

You’ll learn every day with outstanding on-the-job and formal training as well as personal and professional development opportunities. When you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive environment where people from a variety of backgrounds come together to develop brilliant solutions. We’re a recognised Disability Confident employer, meaning we’ll provide the support you need to perform at your best. If you have a disability, or long-term health or neurodivergent condition, we’ll make the reasonable adjustments you need to ensure you feel comfortable at work. Plus, you’ll discover an enjoyable work/life balance, with plenty of sports and social facilities, including a free gym and restaurant, as well as access to our on-site nursery.
