Participants on our Graduate Programme will develop their strategic thinking, problem solving, project management, leadership and relationship building skills whilst undertaking placements within their chosen profession.
Day to day, depending on your chosen profession you could be acquiring or disposing of land, providing investment for infrastructure or working collaboratively with our partner organisations. From day one, you will have ownership and responsibility for your own projects / work.
You will be supported by your placement manager; have a buddy and you will be empowered to take ownership of your own learning and development including having access to a coach or mentor. Towards the end of the programme, we will support you to obtain a role aligned to your career aspirations and organisational needs.
A bit about the role
Our graduate programme finance aims to:
- Invest in growing skills and capabilities the sector needs for the future by providing a specialist Finance career path.
- Support & develop diverse ideas and ways of working in order to achieve our mission through delivering our strategic plan.
- Develop the next generation of future leaders through value driven behaviours.
- Attract a diverse cohort supporting social mobility through an effective attraction campaign and selection process.
- Provide an opportunity for graduates to work collaboratively with Finance colleagues and across the Agency through their development programme.
You will be developing your strategic planning, project and stakeholder management, diversity of thought and change agility as you are fully immersed into the Finance directorate with real impact working with us to - deliver better homes and places for the people who need them. Day to day, you could be supporting a number of initiatives across Finance that assist with the Agency delivering on its core objectives.
You will have ownership and responsibility for your own projects and will be expected to identify and implement improvements and new ways of working. You will be supported by your placement manager, graduate buddy, with access to a coach and/or mentor and will be empowered through learning and development.
You will be funded and supported in the progression of your accountancy chartership training through the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) accreditation route.
Having gained experience across a number of areas within Finance, in the final nine months, we’ll support your application for a permanent Finance role that aligns with your chosen career path and builds upon your CIPFA progress to date. If successful you can choose to complete the rest of the graduate programme or move into a new role within Homes England Finance in the last six months of the programme. If successful you will also be supported to continue and complete your CIPFA chartership.

To be shortlisted for this role you will require a degree in any subject.
You will be required to have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme. Homes England do not offer visa sponsorship, therefore if your visa expires mid-programme and you will need provide evidence on how you plan to secure another visa without sponsorship from Homes England.
