At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role
This is an exciting position in the motorcycle team for the worlds #1 manufacturer. In the UK we are the market leader with 20% market share and an ever-expanding range of brilliant products. Working within the Sales Planning hub this position reports to the Sales Planning Section Manager. The Sales Analyst will be responsible for producing all sales and market data and providing a clear analysis and explanation of the trends and opportunities.
The Sales Analyst will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth introduction of all new models into the UK marketplace and maintaining regular contact with Dealers and Area Managers to understand competitor activity.
They must be comfortable liaising with a wide range of contacts, both internal and external, and able to produce reports and presentations for senior management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Being part of a successful team and contributing to development of the role and the MC business
- Manage and produce various weekly and monthly reports, that cover aging stock, dealer Core Stock Report, Registration Reports, as well as any other ad-hoc reports as required.
- Update daily the stock, order & registration analysis file using data extracted from SAP.
- Input monthly actuals & forecast into the financial reporting system on a weekly basis for the Motorcycles Department.
- Manage and interpret geographical sales performance data, provided at Dealer, Area, National and Product level.
- Manage the Honda Motor Europe UK (HME-UK) forecasting process.
- Assist the Sales Planning Section Manager in managing the Logistics Planning and profitability order process (Niguri & Tanki) and liaising with the Motorcycles Department to ensure the latest information is considered in the preparation of the monthly order proposal for HME-UK management approval.
- Manage and co-ordinate with Urban Science, the ‘Market Report’ system, ensuring latest monthly data is uploaded and all information and reports shown are accurate.
- Prepare and provide relevant product information to external bodies to ensure New Models and New Year Model bikes can be legally insured and sold as soon as they arrive in the UK. E.g. ABI Thatcham, CAP, Urban Science, Glass etc.
- Assist the Sales Planning Section Manager in the preparation and co-ordination of new model planning process and timings.
- Create and manage dealer pre-order / early interest systems for new models.
- Ensure the Area Operations team are kept up to date on all product-related activity and information.
- Produce monthly presentations explaining the sales and market performance, current stock situation and any other relevant information.
- Prepare Annual Dealer Target files and co-ordinate dealer target submissions from Area Managers into HME-UK and related systems.
- Prepare Annual Territory Review files & Dealer Visit Reports for the Sales Area Manager’s
- Provide cover to Motorcycle Sales & Supply Coordinator in supporting dealer enquiries.
- Provide cover to Assets Coordinator in updating the PRF & RAV database.
- Assist the Sales Planning Section Manager in supporting the Marketing process to ensure all marketing material is accurate and published by deadline, including National and Dealer websites.
- Other ad-hoc projects as identified by yourself or the MC team.
- Develop the role to streamline the processes and maximise the output – to use the opportunity to improve, make a change and make a difference.
Qualifications, skills and experience

- Skills in VBA & Macros desirable but not essential
- Ambition to grow and develop the role with a desire for continuous improvement.
- Interest in motorcycles is “nice to have” but not essential.
