The position
Associate Business Analyst (Data) to help drive forward some of our most challenging and exciting data initiatives, providing consistent and high quality data across the global business.
Summary of the role
We are looking for a professional wanting to progress a career in Business Analysis to work as a bridge between business, data, technology and solution providers to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our data services, products, and processes. Joining us as an Associate Business Analyst in Data, you will be a part of a team of hardworking Business Analysts focused on building data products, who are looking to challenge the industry status quo.
Responsibilities
- Participate in workshops, interviews and prototyping sessions in order to elicit business requirements
- Perform analysis for strategic and data projects, using Agile methodology (e.g. user stories, and backlog priority management etc.)
- Assist Business Analysts in the scope and requirements change of projects during implementation phase
- Help produce documentation to ensure the future understanding of projects
- Work with the development team to ensure product align to the business requirement
- Help Business Analysts facilitate the successful completion of project on time and on budget
Requirements
- Demonstrate evidence of analysing and documenting business requirements
- At least 6 months experience of working with data
- Some knowledge of data transformation and data warehouses would be an advantage
- Some user of data access and manipulation tools (e.g. SQL, Python etc.)
- Understanding of MI reporting
- Knowledge and understanding of data visualisation projects
- Knowledge of MI software for dashboards (e.g. Qlikview/Qlik Sense or Power BI) advantageous
- Knowledge of working in an Agile project environment advantageous
- Experience of working in the Insurance industry (particularly London Market insurance) is essential
- Able to work in a small fast moving team with shifting priorities
- Aptitude and willingness to lean new skills essential
