What are we looking for?

We are looking for a number of Trainee Brokers and Account Handlers across a variety of different business areas within Howden Insurance Brokers:

What will you be doing?

With clients:

Develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues
Develop strong relationships with insurers
Deal with client quote requests, placements, renewals and mid-term adjustments
Ensure transactions are conducted with full transparency & accuracy

With suppliers/markets

Develop strong relationships with markets
Maintain any ongoing delegated authority contracts appropriately and efficiently

With Broking/Administration

Create comprehensive client and broking documents as the need arises
Obtaining quotes, indications and endorsements
Technical duties (including data entry, credit control, bordereau production and chasing subjectivities)
Assist in planning the most appropriate insurance programme for the client’s demands and needs

What do we need from you?

A 2:1 degree (or equivalent)
A real interest in the team you are interested in applying for
Negotiation and influencing skills
To be a great teammate, with the ability to network and able to build sustainable relationships
Professional and personable
A strong ability to learn
IT Literacy with a solid understanding of Word and Excel required
Good organisational skills and ability to multi task and plan own workloads
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work under pressure
