We're looking for someone new to join us as a Junior Broker here at Howden!

With this role, you won't require any prior broking experience to get started. This is an entry-level position for individuals who are keen to learn more about the world of Insurance and work with some of the best talent in Howden Tiger – whether you've recently finished your studies at school or university, or you're looking for a career change. What's the job?
Howden Tiger is the world’s fastest growing reinsurance broker and advisor for the global market. What we do is support on placing complex risks with various Insurers, as well as advise clients on their insurance needs.
Your day-to-day will be varied: alongside your team, you will work with specific clients to place risks with insurers, assisting with the negotiation of effective terms to ensure client needs are best met in relation to pricing and cover, as well as participating in team meetings and client calls. You will also manage market queries and external requests as and when they come in.
You'll get a lot of exposure to the various elements that make up our team, and we provide full training for our new starters.
What you'll do
This job entails, but is not limited to:
- Supporting account handlers and executives with reviewing submissions, ensuring that information presented to the market is comprehensive and accurate
- Collating and communicating client requirements to ensure appropriate marketing of the risk
- Assisting on negotiations with underwriters to place insurance that balances quality, coverage and price
- Creating exciting presentations and client packs
- Keeping up to date with new industry developments so that you are best-placed to support clients’ needs
Who we're looking for
This is a starter role with full training and continuous development provided. You don't need prior insurance knowledge! However, experience in a customer-focused environment is desirable.
You'll be an excellent negotiator with fantastic people skills, able to thrive in a high-pressured and constantly evolving environment. You'll have an eye for detail and an analytical mind as well as strong decision-making skills.
