The Role
We are looking for a trainee within our VAT Department to initially assist with the preparation of VAT returns and liaising with both clients and HMRC. This would be a 3 year apprenticeship training contract to study for both the ATT and CTA qualifications.
The Department
The VAT department is headed by a Partner and a Director, and currently comprises of a team of 4 people. We require a trainee to join our team.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be preparing VAT returns for a variety of clients. Full training will be provided and no prior relevant experience is necessary. The role will involve a mixture of compliance (tax return), as well as consultancy work, once the candidate has suitable experience to advise our clients on VAT matters.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a graduate (with at least a 2:2 degree and a minimum of 120 UCAS points) or a school leaver with excellent A-levels.

In return you will be offered a three-year apprenticeship training contract to complete your ATT and CTA qualifications.
You will be formally trained by Tolleys (our training providers). For the ATT qualification you will undergo 3 paper based exams and 3 computer based assessments. You will sit these exams during your first 2 years with us; the paper-based exams take place in November and May each year.
The CTA examinations would then follow.
As part of the training process you will also receive on-the-job training in-house to enable you to put the theory into practice.
