HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are one of the global leaders in the Material Handling industry and have been building relationships and partnering with our customers, suppliers, dealers, and employees for over 80 years.
We bring over 236 different products to the market, ranging from the smallest pallet truck to 48 tonne container handling trucks.
The role
Successful applicants will be assigned to work as Design Engineers or Test & Development Engineers working in teams responsible for a range of the following key accountabilities:
- Validating new product releases and updates
- Testing of trucks and components to assess performance and demonstrate compliance
- Leading development and innovation projects including 3D CAD/VR
- Concept and design of options based on product requirements or special quotations generated through dealer requests
- Develop design changes using 3D CAD and produce engineering drawings
- Generate bills of materials for engineering release
- Generate Aftermarket Parts Information to support maintenance of trucks
- Review development logs and propose interim and permanent corrective actions
- Provide technical support to production departments
- Investigate technical issues using various problem-solving processes
- Redesign products to improve performance and value
- Provide general support to the Team and assisting with departmental improvements
Knowledge Required
- Candidates should be students, working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical engineering concepts
- Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and experience using 3D CAD and creating 2D drawings
- Competent in MS365 Office packages
- Strong teamworking and communication skills, proactivity and initiative and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
