HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are one of the global leaders in the Material Handling industry and have been building relationships and partnering with our customers, suppliers, dealers and employees for over 80 years.

The role
The successful candidate will follow a 2-shift work pattern, with the following key accountabilities:
- Planning and implementation of Manufacturing related projects within given timescales
- Continuous improvement of Manufacturing (Welding/Fabrication) processes
- Root cause analysis and implementing of Safety and Quality improvements
- Provision of Engineering support to Production departments
- Implementation of Engineering changes from Design into Production
- Highlighting and implementation of health and safety, quality and productivity improvements
- Inventory Integrity
- Liaising cross-functionally within all departments in HYG.
- Following a 2-shift work pattern - Early/Late Shift, Monday to Friday (Early Friday finish)
About you
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:
- Educated to HND/Degree level (or working towards, to be completed Summer 2024), with a minimum of 1 year's Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (experience gained through industrial placement will be considered)
- Alternatively, we will consider candidates who hold an HNC with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes e.g Welding and/or Fabrication
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of all relevant Microsoft Office packages (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) plus 3D modelling or Autocad experience
The following criteria is desirable:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Proficient in the use of 2D CAD
- Experience in any of the following: Programming and setting of robotic weld systems, Manual welding processes, Setting up new weld processes including area layouts.
