    The Management Information team is responsible for the production and provision of detailed management information on revenue and costs, both actual and forecast; and information for the purposes of detailed business analysis and forward looking reporting, including assisting with the annual and multi-year business planning process. The function is also responsible for the accounting processes for Operating Expenses, Fixed & Intangible Assets and Transfer Pricing.

    Job Purpose

    The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Management Information and Financial Reporting teams, performing tasks including but not limited to:

    • Accounting journal entries
    • Analytical review of financial information
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations & substantiation
    • Monthly financial reporting to business units
    • Budgeting and forecasting

    The purpose of this role is to work alongside members of the team to ensure key accounting processes are maintained both efficiently and effectively, comprehensive Balance Sheet substantiation is performed as well as producing monthly business unit reports. There will be expectations of this role to be an integral part of the team to help ensure accurate accounting records while adhering to internal controls, ensuring all deliverables are met and recommending enhancements to both accounting and reporting processes.

    The candidate will need to develop strong relationships within the wider Finance team and other key support areas of the business and with our business stakeholders, as well as with stakeholders at ICBC Head Office. They will be expected to maintain good control and confidentiality over accounting records and information provided to the business, while prioritising work and managing deadlines accordingly.

    Key Responsibilities

    The candidate will work alongside members of the team, assisting with accounting and reporting processes that fall under the team's responsibility including but not limited to:

    Monthly accounting

    • Reviewing expenses to identify any required accruals and prepayments
    • Intercompany charges and transfer pricing
    • Processing of journals and adjustments to the accounting records
    • Variance analysis commentary in monthly cost review meetings

    Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiation

    • Substantiation and attestation of Balance Sheet accounts for review at the monthly Finance Governance Committee

    Monthly financial reporting

    • Production of monthly financial packs for distribution to business units
    • Production of tailored and ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders where required
    • Provision of data and standard template submissions to ICBC Head Office
    • Understanding and messaging of key drivers to explain monthly movements, as well as year-on-year movements and variances to budgets or forecasts

    Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Monthly flash reporting to parent companies
    • Collaboration with the business to prepare annual budgets and interim forecasts
    • Uploading of Budget and forecast information to the reporting systems

    Business reporting structure maintenance

    • Collaboration with finance business partners to ensure any business structure changes are implemented in the reporting systems

    On an on-going basis the role will entail

    • Active involvement in applying technical skills and accounting knowledge to critically assess, re-engineer and improve prioritised processes, whilst remaining focused on internal controls
    • Building up and maintaining good relationships with the wider Finance team and other key stakeholders within the bank
    • Establishing direct communication channels with stakeholders at ICBC Head Office
    • A requirement to be execution focused with excellent attention to detail
    • Involvement in ad-hoc analysis and reporting to add value to our business partners

    Preferred Qualifications and Experience

    • Recent graduate or part-qualified accountant with a strong academic record from a first or second tier university
    • Candidate should have excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), with Mandarin being an advantage
    • Strong Microsoft Office application knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Exposure to financial accounting systems such as SAP will be an advantage
