    Calling all passionate C++ DEVELOPERS – Come and join the game-changers!

    You’ll be joining the Risk and Exposure Management Systems development team, which is part of the wider Hedging & Market Execution technology domain in London. The team partners with key business departments and is tasked with improving one of IG’s key business metrics – ‘Return to Volume (RTV)’, a measure of client income retained after hedging costs - by delivering impactful change through technology.

    What You’ll Do

    You'll take an active role in an agile scrum team working on new projects and enhancements to the existing estate. You'll work closely with your peers, other teams and stakeholders, and be able to suggest improvements to all aspects of the development process and product.

    • Be part of a dedicated team of global engineers in a friendly and dynamic environment.
    • Take an active part in the team's continual improvement and your own personal development. Interact with other areas of the business to achieve project objectives and to ensure that all completed tasks are effectively implemented.
    • Participate in the full software development process, from design to deployment.
    • Work alongside the Application Support team and provide second-line support as part of the support rota.

    Requirements

    You'll be developing and maintaining the Risk and Exposure Management System built with modern C++. We are looking for candidates who have a relevant technical degree as well as the following:

    • Demonstrable understanding of modern C++, including STL, OOD/OOP and C++ 11/14/17.
    • A practised user of LINUX command line and scripting.
    • Ability to take ownership of stories and tasks.
    • Good troubleshooting skills and able to eventually join the support rota.
    • Experience in or willingness to learn distributed, low-latency, highly-concurrent systems will be a plus.

    Where You’ll Work

    As part of our hybrid working environment, you’ll split your time between home and the office but will require on average 2 days a week in the London office to collaborate with colleagues and the wider Tech Team.
