    Your Role

    Duties and Responsibilities

    You will be a key member of the IHS Markit Upstream team. Reporting into the International Asset Valuation team, you will:

    • Undertake extensive research relating to upstream oil and gas companies.
    • Review, digest and analyse company reports in order to benchmark, improve and align asset valuation output.
    • Model company portfolios and update key asset valuation models.
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of company and financial reporting standards.
    • Analyse and manipulate extensive inhouse company data to generate meaningful reports and dashboards.
    • Coordinate with global research teams to share findings, update models and improve global data.
    • Be a subject matter expert on key oil and gas companies.
    • Engage with data science to automate processes and workflows.

    Key Skills

    • You are highly analytical and quantitative, with an ability to critically review inputs, calculations and outputs.
    • You are comfortable synthesizing, digesting and visualizing large datasets.
    • You have a high level of proficiency in financial reporting, databases, excel and have an intuitive affinity with data.
    • You are a self-motivated individual who can work autonomously or well within a virtual team.
    • You have a great eye for detail and ability to showcase data/trends.
    • You possess strong communication skills and an ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • You have innovative problem-solving skills

    Key Qualifications

    • Educated to Degree, Master’s or PhD level in any numerate discipline, ideally Economics, Finance or Business related.
    • An interest in Geoscience/Energy industry.
    • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Spotfire, PowerBI) or data visualisation packages
    • Strong quantitative skills including Advanced MS Excel.
    • Knowledge of SQL and/or familiarity with Python useful.
