The role
This role is a 12 week internship starting in June 20th 2022. Based at our offices in Granta Park, Cambridge. Our program focuses on meaningful project work, professional and personal development, in addition to providing networking opportunities.
Our team
- You will join the Computational Protein Engineering Team, which provides computational support for a wide range of protein engineering efforts across Illumina. You will develop computational tools and pipelines that will be used in our cutting-edge protein engineering efforts.
Role and responsibilities
- Developing computational tools for analysis of protein sequence data.
- Combining protein sequence and structural analyses for protein engineering purposes
Required qualifications
- Python programming
- Good general understanding of biology and statistics
- At minimum, a third-year undergraduate student in statistics, computer science, bioinformatics, or other relevant fields.
- Good communication skills
Desirable qualifications
- Experience of protein sequence and structural analysis
- Experience of working with protein visualization tools like PyMol
- Experience of machine learning
