Job Purpose
Joining InfraRed’s Summer Internship Programme you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and insight to the real asset investment industry. It’s an opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and build your technical skills and knowledge to help kick start your career.
During our 8-10 week programme you will have access to a wide range of e-learning courses alongside learning on the job, networking and gaining exposure to a variety of stakeholders across the business. We give you an opportunity to demonstrate your research and presentation skills in the form of a dedicated research project which will be presented to experienced investment professionals.
The funds currently managed by InfraRed are:
- InfraRed Infrastructure Fund VI, a private greenfield infrastructure fund currently being raised
- HICL, a £3.5bn listed brownfield infrastructure fund; focusing on operational social, transport and regulated assets in developed countries globally
- TRIG, a £3.5bn listed renewables fund, focusing on investments in UK and Europe
- EIIF4, a secondary infrastructure vehicle providing co-investment to HICL and TRIG
You will be based in our London office where we operate a hybrid working model with three to four days in the office.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern you will:
- Gain insight to the origination and execution (financial modelling and analysis, structuring, documentation) of infrastructure and energy investment opportunities with a primary focus on UK and Europe
- Support Analysts and Associates (“A&As”) on task related to financial modelling (e.g. DCF and project finance) and due diligence review
- Support the Portfolio Management teams with financial planning & valuation work for Fund reporting
- Assist in preparation of presentations of investment opportunities and reporting to the investment committee (“IC”)
- Provide analytical support to the team on competitor analysis and market reviews
- Support in Fund reporting processes
On completion of your summer internship you will be considered for a permanent position on our rotational Analyst programme, joining after your graduation. The Analyst programme aims to provide graduates and early careers Analysts with the skills and experience required to grow into a successful Investment Professional with InfraRed.
Skills and Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrable strong academic record; preferably with a focus on economics, finance, engineering or sustainability
- Commencing your final year of studies in the autumn of 2023
- Genuine interest in infrastructure, renewables, energy transition or sustainable investments as a sector
- Strong commitment to learning and an inquisitive mindset
- Analytical mindset
- Great communication skills
- Highly organized and ability to prioritise effectively
- Solution oriented and keen to use personal initiative
