Here at Innovative Technology we have an excellent opportunity for a Software Developer (Biometrics) Placement Student to join our talented team in our global head office in Oldham, Manchester for 12 months starting Summer 2023.

Our Biometrics team/ ICU Intelligent Identification offers age verification and several facial-recognition based biometric access control functions.

Utilising our own algorithms this biometric solution offers an accurate (99.88%*) facial recognition system with precise age verification technology that has been independently certified by the Age Check Certification Scheme (ACCS). Our non-intrusive spoof detection gives the highest level of security, constantly monitoring users without the need for customer intervention.

The role

As a Software Developer you will maintain and develop software tools to evaluate performance of the ICU range of biometric products . You will be given the opportunity to play a key role in shaping our development within our ICU Intelligent Identification Team.

The Software Developer Placement Student opportunity is suited to a student in their penultimate year of University, who has an eagerness to learn.

Duties of our Software Developer will include

• Supporting senior software developers in maintaining and improving current codebase
• Developing and improving upon current software tools to evaluate performance of biometric algorithms
• Investigating and resolving underlying issues based on testing
• Contributing to improvements to the face analysis algorithms
• Ensuring that code added to the pipeline / common Git repositories is of the required standard and is well documented / commented so that it is easy to maintain and extend.

Skills & Experience

• Hand on skills for software development e.g Python, C#
• Analytical approach to problem solving and bug fixes
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Fast self-learner
• Basic knowledge of UX/UI design
• An excellent communicator, both verbal and written
