Purpose of the role:

This is a high profile and exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to forge a career in Asset Management.

The role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to senior management across a wide range and stimulating set of challenges that need to be overcome. It will suit a self-starter who is adaptable and comfortable working outside of their current experience. As each challenge is often unique the candidate must possess the intellectual flexibility to solve new problems, taking a pragmatic and commercial perspective.

The team is not aligned to any particular sales channel or region and therefore is therefore able to independently support all activities across Business Development and to represent the whole of Distribution within the wider firm.

At present the team is responsible for all third-party Distributor oversight, production of all internal business intelligence, reporting and insights, competitor and market analysis as well as planning and budgeting.

Role accountabilities:

  • To take responsibility for specific Distribution related projects relating to Business Development
  • To assist with the internal governance and senior management forums within Distribution
  • To assist with the annual planning and budget activities and to regularly report progress against plans and strategy 
  • To undertake ad-hoc strategic research projects with a view to determining opportunities to evolve our strategy
  • To run specific projects in response to regulatory or policy changes
  • Ensuring policies and procedures within Distribution are robust and appropriate

Knowledge, skills and behaviours required:

  • Minimum 2.1. (or equivalent) Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent at an accredited university
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage large complex datasets
  • Proven record of working collaboratively
  • Curiosity about economics, finance or investment finance
  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to articulate ideas clearly
  • Ability to operate in a changing environment and challenge the status quo, innovative
  • Proven record of taking the initiative to act, self-starter
  • Inquisitive, strong desire to learn and grow professionally
