    We are currently looking for a software tester to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team. You will work with the latest technologies, learn something new every day and use your initiative. 

    This junior role provides an ideal start for someone commencing a career in software QA.  Regular mentoring and guidance will reward an enthusiastic candidate providing the ability to analyse and test software applications while working as part of a professional software development environment.

    Tasks include the following:

    • Attend stand-ups and demonstrations from development team to understand new features
    • Run tests on new software versions
    • Confirmation testing on resolved software defects to ensure they are fixed in release builds
    • Reporting new defects and updating the status of already logged items based on testing feedback
    • Development of test scripts to add to test automation set
    • Review and editing of release documentation to ensure it is complete and accurately describes the completed work for software users
    • Providing administration support to QA team as required to manage testing schedules and reporting

    The candidate

    We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who possess the following attributes:

    • A qualification in computing, maths or physics is desirable but not required
    • A strong interest in engineering, computing or mathematics
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Enthusiasm and ability to contribute ideas to the team
    • High attention to detail, with questioning and logical thought process
    • Comfortable working on own initiative to tackle problems
    • Some experience of software testing and automation (coding/scripting) would be advantageous. For example, using tools such as Test Complete, Selenium
