What we are we looking for:
Our Support Associates provide specialist support to the investment desks within the Henley Investment Centre. This role is key to ensure that the Fund Managers within the department can focus their attention on the management of client assets by handling day-to-day issues, performing investigations, rectifying errors and communicating back to the investment teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the efficient running of the investment desks, including Execution of day-to-day activities, including ad hoc issue resolution, record keeping & reporting, acting as the first line of response to queries. Preventative and detective control processes.
- Daily monitoring of cash, fund positioning and overdraft levels, ensuring regulatory, contractual and investment limits are maintained. This includes identification of unexpected balances/movements, unintended exposures to currency. This will involve review of reconciliation output from Back Office teams, working through identified issues with supporting teams to investigate and rectify issues identified, including management of communications.
- Management of breaches, incidents, and errors (through coordination of the Rectification Committee when required), ensuring timely logging within incident management system and support through to resolution.
- To provide specialist support to Fund Managers when undertaking investment, transactional and operational activities, through acting as central point of contact and coordination.
- Support Fund Managers with their adherence to regulatory policies through logging of corporate interactions, monitoring of relevant lists and maintenance of Corporate Access records. This will involve working alongside other internal partners to ensure satisfactory dissemination of examples and records.
- Collation of investment data from specified sources, in a workable format, to reduce the administrative burden on Fund Managers.
- Assist Fund Managers with issues encountered during the trading and transactional processes, including the assessment, and clearing of Pre-Trade Controls through liaison with compliance advisory and other departments as needed. Aiming to minimise any impact upon trading activity.
- Support the ongoing updates of Investment Department procedures manuals and policies.
- General administrative support within the team including – Monitoring oversight of key first line controls, data/system queries, MI reporting, BCP, breach resolution, pre / post trade compliance queries, cash / overdraft management, response to internal/external audits.
- Responsible for assisting in larger initiatives and owning change items, throughout the project lifecycle – from collation of business case and requirements to delivery.
- Supporting the investment teams through the project life cycle and managing the transition to BAU, including assisting and coordinating testing.
- Ownership of basic project management for small to medium initiatives. Including implementation and management of all project related documentation and logs.
What you can bring:
You will bring experience of working within asset management/financial services and a good understanding of the full investment process. You will be able to manage your own workload with the ability to act on your own initiative.
Ideally, you'll have a good working knowledge of MS Office is required with an inquisitive mindset and strong communication and collaboration skills.
An eye for detail and the ability to work as part of a team is key.
