The Henley Investment Centre (HIC) is part of Invesco Ltd, a leading independent global investment management firm dedicated to delivering an investment experience that helps people get more out of life. The HIC manages £54.1 billion in assets on behalf of clients worldwide (as at February 2022), offering a wide range of single-country, regional and global capabilities across major equity, fixed interest and alternative asset classes, delivered through a diverse set of investment vehicles and solutions. The HIC is made up of 82 investment professionals with 20 years average industry experience and11 years average company tenure, working in small, high-quality teams, with a commitment to valuation driven, active management. They operate under a disciplined philosophy and process with strong risk oversight and quality controls. The remainder of the department, approximately 30 employees, work closely with the investment teams by providing operational, risk oversight & business project/change management and administration support.
Your role
The Junior Business Analyst, Investment Process & Change will provide specialised support to the investment desks within the Henley Investment Centre (HIC). This role is key to ensure that the Fund Managers within the department can focus their attention on the management of client assets by handling day-to-day issues, performing investigations, rectifying errors and communicating back to the investment teams. The HIC benefits from the controlled and organised approach that comes from a centralised team, along with specialised knowledge about the industry and Front Office processes.
Sound interesting? You will be involved in
- Monitoring oversight of key first line controls, data/system queries, MI reporting, BCP, breach resolution, pre / post trade compliance queries, cash / overdraft management, response to internal/external audits.
- Supporting Fund Managers with logging of corporate interactions, monitoring of relevant lists and maintenance of Corporate Access records.
- Supporting the efficient running of the investment desks, including execution of day-to-day activities, including ad hoc issue resolution, record keeping & reporting, acting as the first line of response to queries.
- Participating in start-of-day checks including the monitoring of cash, fund positions and overdraft levels.
Requirements
- Educated to an A-level or equivalent qualification standard
- Good knowledge of the full investment process: from clients investing/redeeming money through to the process of investing, settling and maintaining the client portfolio
- Understanding or experience of analytical techniques such as SWOT, Cost Benefit, or Gap are an advantage
- Basic working knowledge of MS Office required, with an understanding of advanced Excel or PowerBI being an advantage
