This work helps clients to prioritise policy efforts, assess the impact of programmes, and enhance the delivery of public services.

    Our research expertise extends across all areas of public policy, and our client portfolio includes a range of UK government entities, including central and devolved departments, as well as universities and financial institutions in NI.

    This breadth of experience provides analysts with the chance to engage in diverse research projects spanning policy areas, such as education, social cohesion, community development, energy, innovation and enterprise, health, and government and societal issues.

    What will I be doing?

    We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join our team. Successful applicants will support a growing area of work offering evaluation and consulting services, working across a range of policy areas.

    You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects and reporting to the project manager while contributing to the growth of the team by developing our approaches, techniques and wider thinking. The main responsibilities of the role are:

    • Analysis of the design of policies and programmes and their anticipated impacts;
    • Literature reviews and analysis of socioeconomic data to describe the context for policy delivery;
    • Contributing to development of research tools (e.g. questionnaires, topic guides);
    • Co-ordinating and supporting depth interviews;
    • Analysis of quantitative and qualitative evidence from various research projects;
    • Contributing to drafting accessible and concise reporting outputs of findings;
    • Contributing to winning new contracts by supporting the development of research proposals, reporting to the proposal manager;
    • Attending client meetings and contributing to written outputs and presentations.

    What do I need to bring with me?

    Essential

    • A strong interest in developing knowledge and understanding of different areas of public policy
    • A desire to build a career in research and consulting and a commercial attitude
    • A genuine interest in social research and a desire to develop your career within a leading research company
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – including proficiency in MS Excel
    • Experience of quantitative research methods including study design, data collection, and analysis
    • Knowledge of qualitative research methods
    • Ability to manage and analyse large datasets, ensuring data quality and accuracy
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to non-technical audiences both in writing and verbally
    • Experience of using (or demonstrated interest of learning) mathematical or statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, SAS or R
    • Fluency in English, any other languages are an advantage

    Desirable

    • Experience in designing and delivering surveys, interviews and/or focus groups
    • Knowledge of statistical methods
    • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
