    The Financial Research Survey (FRS) is the largest and longest running Financial Services survey in GB. It is subscribed to by many of the UK’s major Financial Service providers and is seen as ‘industry currency’ for financial research data. Our division sits within the Ipsos Market Strategy & Understanding Service Line (MSU) which houses our strategic research specialists.

    The data we collect from our survey is used at board level for all the major financial institutions in GB, and helps our clients understand market share and performance relative to peers. The results have influenced employee incentives and is used to improve customer service and products, and to generally keeps tabs on the pulse of the financial services industry.

    What will I be doing?

    As a Graduate Research Executive, you'll be supporting with client requests and any ad-hoc analysis across the product categories on the client’s behalf. You will also have a role in producing and delivering important monthly reports for our clients.

    You’ll be a key member of the team working towards taking responsibility for one of the product categories to become an expert in that product field. You’ll be supporting quarterly reports based on what is affecting the category, identifying new trends and any areas that are a potential threat / opportunity.

    You’ll get to work with the data (quantitative… numbers, numbers, numbers), with a focus on what that data means - sharing your findings with the client and impacting their business with a powerful, insights-led story. You will learn to understand the true impact of our research and how it influences our clients, gaining an appreciation of their organisational challenges.

    Through support from your manager and the wider team, you will:

    • Develop your wider research knowledge, including methodologies
    • Prepare and update project plans
    • Check data files and tables
    • Quality check key deliverables, ensuring they are delivered accurately and to the highest quality
    • Prepare, plan, prioritise and communicate effectively to ensure deliverables are sent to schedule
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal suppliers and team members
    • Support the production and delivery of monthly and quarterly reports based on what is affecting the category, identifying new trends and any areas that are a potential threat or opportunity

    What do I need to bring with me?

    • A passion for financial products and brands, with an openness and motivation to get stuck in to understanding what products people have, how they use their accounts, how satisfied customers are with their providers, what would attract more customers
    • A hunger to unpick questions into their constituent parts, to diagnose opportunities and be able to influence decisions
    • A natural drive to not just deliver facts, but to interpret those into the “so what” and the “now what”
    • The ability to work creatively and think commercially
    • Thrives on delighting people through over-delivery and going the extra mile
    • Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to analysing data
    • Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
