    We are seeking a Lab Assistant to join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business at Livingston, UK.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting senior laboratory staff with a variety of routine laboratory procedures including processing, storage and retrieval of specimens

    What you’ll be doing

    • Provide administrative and technical support to the lab.
    • Maintain glassware for the laboratory i.e wash, rinse, dry, distribute and store glassware such as test tubes, beakers, flasks and cylinders
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas including disinfecting workbenches, materials, equipment and other laboratory areas.
    • Prepare and sterilize laboratory supplies, equipment and other materials.
    • Responsible for tube labeling and preparation.
    • Facilitate post-analysis storage and sample banking.
    • May conduct routine equipment maintenance.

    What we are looking for

    • High School Diploma or equivalent Req
    • 0-6 months of relevant work experience preferred Pref
    • Other Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

    The knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this role

    • Basic knowledge of practices and principles used in the laboratory.
    • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
    • Basic knowledge of general rules for safe exposure to chemical and blood borne pathogens.
    • Basic knowledge of sterilization and decontamination procedures and hazardous waste management.
    • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology.
    • Basic Computer skills.
