    Background

    Iron Mountain is delivering double digit organic growth in the UK/Ireland for the first time in many years. The enterprise ambition is to double revenues to $10bn by 2027 and this growth will come from its largest markets.

    The UK is one such market with c11% market share. Therefore, the business local ambition is to grow to 20% of the available market and drive core storage, digital and activity revenue to over $400m.

    To do this, we need to open up new customers and ensure we properly understand what they need to buy from us and how we can sustainably support them.

    Purpose of Role

    The purpose of this role is to build this customer insight through a combination of market research and Customer interviews, whilst putting the information sets together that the business can build on.

    As part of this role, you will be working closely with various other functional teams in the business such as Commercial, Sales Planning and Marketing.

    Primary activities of this placement are to

    • Focusing on an important subset of customers (tbc) research key personas, long term information and data strategies
    • Collaborate with the wider team to build interview questions and content to further probe customers plans
    • Design templates that support personas and Customer journey maps
    • Design surveys that are goal content and audience specific
    • Make assessments of market size and opportunities
    • Develop marketing strategies to support future pipeline development based on findings
    • Identify market trends and make recommendations
    • Identify threats and opportunities within the sector
    • Conduct valid and reliable SWOT analysis of market research
    • Collaborate with internal marketing and business partners to understand goals and needs

    Deliverables & Outcomes

    • Present data and findings to a key audience that can be tailored at a market level
    • Create data reports that can be easily grouped and interpreted
    • Cater needs to the audience
    • Ensure data sources are accurate
    • Recommend actions for optimization
    • Highlight product performance and its life cycle within a sector
    • Forecast and track industry marketing trends based on collected data

    Person Requirements

    • Studying for or completed a business or marketing degree
    • Aptitude for research and critical thinking
    • Open to learn new ideas
    • Confident in engaging with customers and new people

    The role holder will have weekly reviews on progress to ensure adequate support is provided. These reviews will also be used to set priorities, provide clear guidance on requirements and to work through issues/challenges etc.

    During the placement, the role holder will have access to the necessary IM IT resources, including Sales Enablement training and a full induction package.

    Location

    The role will be based in Iron Mountain’s London office at 4 More London Riverside, or our site on Nettlehill Road in Livingston, Scotland.
