    This role entails

    To provide programme content compliance advice to content creators for ITV across all platforms (both in house and external).

    Key responsibilities

    • Provide advice on compliance with broadcasting regulations including the Ofcom Broadcasting Code
    • Advise production teams, broadcast channels and platforms on compliance issues from commission through to delivery
    • Ensure that producers (including 3rd parties) understand their compliance obligations
    • Review programme compliance issues at various stages, depending on the production and transmission: e.g. script reading; attendance at recording; viewing work in progress and final cuts; supervising edits; clearing or ensuring editing of repeat programming
    • Capture compliance notes and programme data on approved broadcast and compliance systems
    • Contribute to management of regulatory complaint or inquiry arising from programme content
    • Provide input to compliance process continuous improvement
    • Conduct proactive compliance risk and issue management
    • Develop and influence relationships with producers and the business across ITV

    Minimum criteria

    • Knowledge of compliance with broadcasting regulations including the Ofcom Broadcasting Code
    • Experience in programme compliance and clearance
    • Good working knowledge of regulatory codes and how they are implemented

    Key criteria

    • Ability to provide solutions-based advice and to support producers/broadcasters to find creative solutions to compliance problems (editorial or commercial)
    • Ability to build strong working relationships and trust with the business
    • To be contactable out of office hours and to attend at studio recordings or live broadcast where required to give support and content advice
