The Banbury Coffee Manufacturing plant is one of the leading plants in JDE’s global manufacturing network, producing and packing Instant Coffee and Tassimo Discs for some of the best known and loved coffee brands including Kenco, L’OR, Douwe Egberts, Maxwell House and Jacobs. With a cost base of approximately £60m, the Plant Finance team play a key role in controlling costs.
As well as providing financial control, the Finance team acts as a key business partner to the Plant Leadership Team ensuring that the Plant achieves its objectives and delivers against Budget.
The Section Controller – Packing is responsible for all cost optimisation and financial reporting activities for the Packing Section in the Factory.
Key responsibilities:
- Business partner to the Packing Section Manager, influencing decision making and driving a cost-conscious culture
- Using data to provide financial insight and identify tactical and strategic risks and opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement in existing processes (both financial and non-financial)
- Produce weekly financial data
- Responsible for supporting and challenging budget holders. Preparing detailed annual budgets and monitoring performance against these targets

This position is based at our Manufacturing site in Banbury. The Section Controller – Packing is part of the Finance team who form a key part of the wider Manufacturing function. The Manufacturing function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, green coffee beans to award winning coffee. The team covers sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and planning processes, they ensure optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale.
