    About the opportunity

    Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland’s first Nuclear Power station.

    Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

    We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support key Client deliverables across the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C construction projects. Key responsibilities will be:

    • Supporting the team leads in producing and reviewing deliverables.
    • Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.
    • Produces technical deliverables for which they are responsible.
    • Collaboration and engagement with stakeholders to ensure consistency of civil transverse knowledge and approach.
    • Liaise with other building disciplines to ensure coordination of design.
    • Support to site-based engineering teams to facilitate resolution of issues that can impact site construction.
    • Liaise with subject matter expects to utilise learning and knowledge from the wider organisation.
    • Applies technical knowledge and skill to support the delivery of a variety of design packages and other delegated technical aspects of projects.
    • Draw on technical knowledge to solve routine problems with limited supervision, and responsible for managing personal contribution to the team, with guidance from senior team members.
    • Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures.
    • Resolving identified technical issues.

    Here’s what you'll need

    • An undergraduate or first academic degree in Civil Engineering
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
    • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel. Familiarity with Navisworks would be advantageous but not essential.
    • A strong understanding of civil engineering design principles from your degree studies.
    • An understanding of site works and roles and responsibilities during a contract.
    • The ability to work on your own initiative and to seek assistance when required.
    • Able to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure that timescales are met.
    • Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions to civil engineering problems.
    • The ability to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
    • Learning agility, actively learning through experimentation and experience, seeking ways to grow and to be challenged.
