What to expect
As the IP Engagement Coordinator, you will hold responsibility for the day-to-day administration and coordination of internal communication activities between The Intellectual Property (IP) Department and the wider business, including supporting the Patent Creation Team with invention harvesting, raising awareness of IP and innovation monitoring across the business.
You will also be supporting the Patent Communication & Engagement Officer and IP Programmes Manager in executing a communication & engagement strategy to raise the profile of the department, of IP protection and of the board-approved IP protection targets; you will be devising an internal communication strategy to complement this. You'll also be responsible for the following:
- Supporting the Patent Communication & Engagement Officer in organising and coordinating training, other engagement and outreach activities which will support with invention harvesting, raising awareness of intellectual property (IP) and monitoring innovations across the business.
- Coordinating communications in and out of the department to the wider business; being first point of contact for communication requests, particularly, engaging with the engineering internal communications team to publish articles to raise awareness and ensure unity and impact.
- Updating the website; working with relevant teams in the business to ensure our intranet site is accessible and that content is up to date and relevant.

- Excellent communication skills in writing, in person and to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to engage with colleagues and peers from different fields.
- Willing to explore, positively challenge and be curious about the work of others around you.
- Ideally you will have experience of creating publication material, updating websites and policy writing or have the appetite to learn.
