Electronics & Complex Integration Systems
Automotive systems are increasing in complexity and becoming highly distributed across the vehicle platform. Electronics systems and their components are the driving force behind our cutting-edge customer-facing features, from assisted and automated driving to the quality-of-life improvements our customers expect when using their vehicles.
On the Electronics & Complex Integration Undergraduate Programme you could work in one of the following departments: Engineering Operations (EO), Engineering Powertrain (EP) or Digital Product Platform (DPP). You will be allocated to a department based on personal preferences and business need.
Engineering Operations (EO)
Engineering Operations underpins technical innovation and product delivery with engineering delivery, tools and processes plus specialist technical services. We are a diverse team that harnesses a variety of skill sets, from information management and data analytics to building and testing prototypes. Your placement will give you a deep understanding of the discipline and significant exposure to diverse professionals, so you can make an informed choice regarding the graduate scheme you wish to pursue with Jaguar Land Rover.
Engineering Powertrain (EP)
Working with a team of experienced engineers, you will use cutting-edge tools and processes to deliver systems engineering solutions. Using model-based techniques to support the design and early validation of systems, as well as proven electronic design practices, you will support the delivery of the premium features and consistent quality that our customers expect from the Jaguar Land Rover brand.
During your placement, you will develop a deep understanding of electronic controls and power electronic converters and controllers as well as component design and integration (electrical and functional). In short, you will gain all the skills and expertise needed to develop future electric vehicle propulsion platforms and charging systems.
Digital Product Platform (DPP)
During your 12 months, you will enjoy opportunities to design, develop and shape the future of our electronics and complex systems, working on a wide range of projects across different areas. You could be part of a team driving the design, development and validation of Jaguar Land Rover's cutting-edge technology solutions or could focus on model development and simulation at either system or component level. Along the way, you will interface with multiple stakeholders to ensure that your solutions meet agreed standards and requirements throughout the development lifecycle, right through to final documentation.
What’s required?
You will need to be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in systems engineering, electronic and communications engineering, computer science, software engineering, cryptography, maths or physics.
You will have a real passion for problem solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong numerical and interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives.
