    About the role

    We are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join us and support all aspects in the Electrical Penetrators & Connectors Division through the design, development and implementation of new products. You will coordinate with and support the QHSE and Production Departments in ensuring all work is completed safely and in a controlled manner.

    As a Junior Design Engineer at RMSPumptools, your principal accountabilities will include the following:

    You will undertake all aspects of product design and development, project management and production support with our Electrical Penetrators and Connectors Division, this includes:

    • Preparing project engineering documents, schedules, and forecasts
    • Crafting innovative design layouts and concepts
    • Performing relevant stress calculations
    • Creating detailed engineering drawings
    • Developing BOMs and Assembly Drawings
    • Writing assembly and test procedures
    • Managing designated projects from start to finish
    • Conducting design reviews and providing regular project status reports
    • Organizing qualification tests as required by the Electrical Penetrators & Connectors Division
    • Collaborating with Engineers and Production departments to optimize assembly and manufacturing methods
    • Guiding the Production department on premium builds
    • Assisting Engineers and Production with first-off manufacturing builds and process procedures
    • Troubleshooting manufacturing issues and providing support to resolve production failures
    • Conducting teardowns and analyzing failed products for improvement

    Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

    To excel in this role, you should have:

    • An MEng or BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject, ideally with a 2.1 grade or above
    • Preferably, experience with relevant software such as Inventor 3D or a similar CAD program
    • Proficiency in core MS Office software
    • Experience in the Oil and Gas, design, manufacturing, renewable, or a similar environment (desirable)
