Your opportunity
This role is a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship which is a work based qualification combining practical training in a job and study. You will:
- Assist in Cyber Incident response
- Monitoring threat intelligence feeds, SIEM and EDR logs and actioning alerts as appropriate
- Assist in the development and implementation phases of information security projects in various areas, including cloud security, user access management, vulnerability detection, and insider threat analysis
- Perform other miscellaneous cybersecurity operations and systems engineering tasks as required
- Staying up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to ensure the organization is prepared to address new threats
- Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills
- Basic knowledge of security tools, such as nmap, vulnerability scanning tools, etc
- Basic knowledge of Windows and UNIX
- Proficient in information gathering and analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interest in IT and Information Security
- Desire to learn and grow
Nice to have skills
- Any information security specific certification
- Basic knowledge of a programming language
- Knowledge of wide area network security concepts as it pertains to networking protocols and connectivity to/from outside resources (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, encryption, cloud security, common attack techniques and authentication methods)
