    JCB is a groundbreaking company that has been proudly making the earth move for over half a century. Our machines are world-renowned because they enable people to do things that would otherwise be impossible. But everything we’ve achieved has been built on a foundation of hard work, by diverse individuals, working together as a team.

    We see the key to our future success lies in developing, training and rewarding new talent that is keen to grow with us and forge a future that is limited only by your ambition and skill.

    What does the Design & Development Graduate Scheme involve day-to-day?

    This exciting 18 month programme gives you the chance to rotate across different areas of the business; Design, Development, Product Innovation and even the opportunity to experience a commercial placement to truly broaden your understanding of our business. We’ll help you to figure out just where your passion lies (not to mention your skills), as you learn to connect the conceptual thinking behind one set of Engineering problems to that of another component part.

    Our Design and Development Graduates are involved in all manner of market leading projects. Just imagine what you could be working on in a company as future focused as JCB! What’s more, you’ll also have the chance to be involved in community based and education STEM activities and become a registered STEM Ambassador.

    Some of the projects you could be working on include;

    • Solving problems at design and production
    • Using NX and Teamcentre software
    • Building and testing rigs for new machines
    • Testing of equipment to evaluate performance
    • Stripping down of machinery to identify and solve problems
    • Reporting of testing and development scenarios

    This is a scheme for those who have a unique view of the work they’re doing and want to have their voice heard in a high-impact environment, with the potential opportunity for an overseas placement!

    About you

    You need to be near to, or have completed, an appropriate bachelor’s or master’s degree and must be on track to secure a 2:1 or higher. The placements will be based within one of our UK sites in Staffordshire, so if you’re not based locally you need to be willing to relocate to within a reasonable commuting distance.

    The rewards you deserve

    This is your chance to join a company that values expertise, not only in rewards but also in real employee care. On a JCB Early Careers Scheme you don’t just get a competitive salary, 33 days’ holiday, and access to our company pension—you can also benefit from using our onsite gym, in-house doctor, dentist and visiting optician, as well as a comprehensive training programme including residential outdoor development.

    There’s also a JCB Rewards Hub, which gives you discounts at many high street fashion and food retailers. And if you feel like biking to work? There’s our Cycle to Work Scheme.
