What is the Electrical & Electronic Engineering Degree Apprenticeship programme like?
We’ll show you in depth how we turn out quality new JCB products to time and budget constraints. You’ll see how we come up with initial ideas, move them through the design stage, build, test and, ultimately, arrive at the finished article. There may even be the possibility of an overseas placement!
You’ll undertake placements that perfectly suit your career aspirations, contributing to large-scale projects – not just working on one small section of the machine, but on large systems or the entire machine architectures. You’ll be encouraged to vocalise your ideas, develop your confidence, and make a valued contribution from day one. This is a scheme for those who have a unique view of the work they’re doing and want to have their voice heard in a high-impact environment, with the potential opportunity for an overseas placement!
There’s also the opportunity to get stuck into a more commercially focused placement to experience engineering from a unique perspective.
Some of the areas you could be working on include:
- Vehicle wiring schematic/harness design.
- Electrical & Electronic system fault finding and rectification.
- Design/development of vehicle control systems including ECU software designs, communications networks (including CAN), displays, telematics, service tools etc.
