Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the fire engineering analysis of exciting projects involving new and existing buildings.

You will work on a wide range of buildings such as high-rise office buildings, large retail complexes and airport developments, each providing unique challenges in developing an innovative fire engineering strategy.

You will be tasked with analysing fire growth, means of escape, structural fire resistance and smoke control by various methods including computer modelling software such as Computational Fluid Dynamics. The preparation of technical reports and liaising with our clients, who include some of the largest building developers in the country, is an important part of your role.

Here’s what you'll need

To set you up for success in this role from day one (at a minimum) the following qualifications/experience are required

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Graduated within the last 2 years with or expect to receive a 2:1 BEng or Masters Degree within a Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace and or Physics discipline
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

Additional qualifications/experience that could help you succeed even further in this role include

  • A team-player who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm to innovate
  • A second European language is an advantage but not essential

Please note that we have previously taken graduate fire engineers from other STEM Master courses including Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace / Aeronautical and Physics. Those individuals have had very successful careers with us.
