    About the role

    Administration

    For the avoidance of doubt, it is not permitted to process third party payments

    • Resolve administrative queries with clients and Investment Administration
    • Be responsible for the new client account opening process
    • Prepare transactions for processing on the Firm’s systems, (it is not permitted to release orders)
    • Check contract details against dealing data
    • Draft client reports and correspondence that would accompany valuations, dealing letters or investment manager recommendations and responses to ad hoc client requests or queries
    • Prepare payment, transfer and other Investment Administration forms for investment manager sign-off

    Client relationships (under appropriate supervision)

    For the avoidance of doubt no investment advice is to be relayed under any circumstances

    • Help resolve and respond to administrative queries from clients, referring where appropriate to supervisor or other senior person
    • On request, provide factual information only relating to market indices, share prices etc.
    • Develop relationships with clients by arranging, attending and assisting at meetings as appropriate, including the preparation of necessary documentation

    Investment Management

    • Monitor existing and potential investments
    • Help with analysis of investments by reading research and attending company/fund manager meetings
    • Help with portfolio construction and ongoing monitoring of client’s portfolios
    • In time, contribute to the firm’s investment process by contribution to morning meeting, monthly stock selection and asset allocation meetings and research of collectives.

    Compliance

    • Work within the Regulatory and the Firm’s compliance framework
    • Follow JMF development programme to gain competence
    • Maintain own professional competence through a programme of CPD

    Ensure that the firm’s clients and staff are always treated fairly and responsibly, with respect and consideration.

    Qualifications, skills, experience and competencies 

    • Studying for/passed the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma as appropriate, to complete qualification within 12 months of commencing role
    • Degree Educated (2:1)
    • Up to 1 year’s financial services experience
    • Demonstrable interest in City Markets and Private Client Fund Management
    • Analytical and numerate
    • Well organised
    • Customer facing
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer literate
