The Graduate BIM Engineer will learn and gain experience within the Digital Project Delivery (DPD) team and support project teams with developing, managing and delivering multi-disciplinary BIM standards & digital implementation strategy. Technical expertise and leadership skills will also be developed to assist in implementing, developing and managing a successful BIM process from Pre-contract all the way through the project delivery and handover.
The role
Within the UK Civils division, you will be implementing BIM process and technology. You will:
- Assist in developing the BEP and ensuring it is followed,
- Audit models,
- Support site teams in using the models,
- Minute co-ordination meetings,
- Work with site teams to ensure BIM procedures are followed,
- Work with the bid team on BIM for tenders.
This position will give you the chance to work on some of the top construction projects and will include travelling to sites on projects in the UK.
This role will be based out of our UK Civils office in Birmingham or Warrington.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and Document BIM Standards,
- Work with Project teams to ensure the successful delivery of the project,
- Review and Analyse 3D Models from consultants and contractors,
- Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs,
- Assisting the coordination of 3D Models in engineering and design team meetings,
- Audit and review models,
- Explore the market and identify digital construction innovative technologies,
- Hold co-ordination meetings with project team members,
- Early design review and constructability analysis,
- Manage/Update Project Documents,
- Model Quantity Extraction/Verification,
- Model Authoring,
- Supporting with 360º imagery and drone surveys.
- Trialling and testing new technologies such as mobile capturing devices, AR etc.

Essential
- Interest in working with Roads &/or Rail Construction Technology.
- Basic knowledge of BIM processes, standards and protocols; either in the Roads or Rail sector.
Desired
- Site/Construction Experience,
- Knowledge/skills in Autodesk products (NavisWorks, AutoCAD, Civils 3D),
- Knowledge/skills in Bentley products (Microstation, OpenRoads/Rail, LumenRT),
- Knowledge of basic construction processes and procedures,
- GCSE Grade A-C (4+) in Maths and English
- Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint),
- Completed coursework in Construction, Roads, Rail or an equivalent combination of training and or work experience.
