What you will do
- Working as part of the Marine design team, based in Manchester, on mechanical design aspects of marine fire suppression projects, ensuring precision and adherence to client specifications.
- Draft detailed CAD drawings and data sheets for fire protection systems tailored to the unique requirements of each project.
- Develop a variety of drawings, including mechanical and electrical layouts, schematics, P&ID's, Equipment Datasheets, and Hydraulic Calculations.
- Interpret and apply Approval Authority rules and Regulations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Design Engineer and Project Manager, offering valuable design and CAD support.
What we look for
Essential
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and the internal project team.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Hydraulic Calculation package (FireCAD).
- Ability to interpret clients' technical specifications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Willingness to obtain SC UK MOD Security clearance.
Preferred
- HNC/HND in Engineering (Engineering Background).
- Experience in the Marine Industry.
- Previous involvement in MoD contracts.
- Background in the Fire Protection or Fire Detection industry.
