    The role

    As the Process Analytics Specialist To provide technical expertise to the advancement of fundamental understanding in key product, process and test method areas within the Process Technology department, taking responsibility for one or more test methods for strategic Product & Process Introductions in existing or new manufacturing facilities, collaborating globally to deliver innovation.

    This role will deliver a deep technical understanding of measurement techniques and their use in defining product and process characteristics. Knowledge gained and shared will drive the advancement of operational capability, unlock manufacturing capacity and optimise efficiency in design and manufacturing across the sector.

    Your responsibilities

    • Provide technical expertise in Process Analytics through cutting-edge development, innovative problem solving and optimised systems, which meet customer quality needs, are standardised and integrated in manufacturing equipment.
    • Conduct projects contributing to the standardisation and improvement of process test methods to ensure consistent measurement of Key Characteristics is possible at all locations and scales.
    • Conduct projects to investigate and implement appropriate (additional) test methods to deliver step change improvements in quality or capability of both development and manufacturing operations.
    • Provide under guidance appropriate technical support to other users of assigned test method(s), ensuring any advice is in line with Sector best practice and standards.
    • Provide technical expertise into the design of manufacturing processes and QC methodologies which inherently increase the manufacturing capability (yield) to produce product to customer specifications.
    • Interpret complex data and draw appropriate conclusions. Record and report experimental and findings.
    • Work closely with Applications Engineering, Product R&D, Manufacturing Operations and Quality Functions. Seek opportunities to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues without boundaries.
    • Contribute fully to departmental initiatives and EHS activities and take responsibility for own actions in respect of EHS, ethics, security and JM policies and procedures.

    Requirements for the role

    • Graduate (BSc, MSc, PhD or equivalent training/experience) scientist or engineer. Chemistry or Materials Science useful
    • A passion for understanding and solving problems
    • Detail orientated with an appreciation for developing deep process or measurement system knowledge
    • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with an appreciation of the most effective tools for conveying technical information to diverse stakeholders, both internal and external
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including data analysis and statistics capability
    • Professional experience in a technical environment including working with cross functional teams to deliver strategic group objectives (Desirable)
    • Proven track record of technical innovation, to support step change improvement in performance, quality and/or efficiency (Desirable)
    • Demonstrable ability to implement change within own team, and influence change within Product Development, Operations and other business functions (Desirable)
    • Experience with Vision (visual quality control) systems (Desirable)
