KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

KBR Consulting International draws on a heritage of over thirty five years specialising in the front end phases of engineering projects from pre-feasibility, up to and including preliminary Front End Engineering Design (FEED) phases. In addition, we undertake small FEEDs as well as providing specialist consultancy to later through to phases of projects. The front end nature of the work means that we are often involved in developments in areas and technologies new to the engineering industry.

With clients ranging from large internationals to smaller independent companies, we are currently heavily involved globally in the transition from oil and gas to other sources of energy including hydrogen and ammonia, decarbonisation, production of bio-fuels and the move towards minimal manning of offshore production facilities. Other projects include strategy / master plan development (‘Decisioneering’ process), financial modelling, product & energy optimisation, maximising asset performance and petrochemical integration.

Over the years, KBR has provided support for some of the largest industry capital investments in modern times. Moreover, KBR has acted as lender’s advisor on well over 200 projects for a broad range of clients and financial institutions across many sectors including upstream and downstream oil and gas, speciality chemicals, mining, biofuels, pulp and paper, power, and general infrastructure.

The Role

The process engineering team is at the heart of the design of the project using their technical expertise and problem solving skills to find optimum technical solutions, whilst working alongside other engineering disciplines to ensure a robust, economic and safe design.

We are growing our engineering team and are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated people with a desire to learn and grow their experience. Working as part of KBR Consulting international will offer you an opportunity to part of a global, diverse, service orientated organisation.

You will work as part of small project teams developing concept and early project definition in the Oil and Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Renewables and Energy Transition Sectors, undertaking work covering a wide variety of tasks from simulation of processes through to specifying the details of equipment and piping items.

You may interface with client technical staff to develop and present outcomes and to discuss technical issues. Travel to client sites or offices may be required.

We provide challenging opportunities for our engineers on projects and help them develop technical and leadership skills, whilst ensuring they are provided with the support they need to develop these skills.

Our aim is to support and invest in the engineer to help them gain a wide range of experience in the many different aspects of process design so that they can have a varied and stimulating career. As a Gold Corporate Partner of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), we are formally recognised by the IChemE as a company that provides excellent support to young engineers through their early career development, leading to Chartered Chemical Engineer status. We actively encourage and support our younger engineers in gaining corporate membership and operate an IChemE Approved Company Training Scheme (ACTS) for our process graduates.

Working at KBR means being rewarded for your contributions. In addition to competitive compensation programs focused on total rewards, we provide employees with everything they need for success, including on-the-job training and professional development for continued growth.
