Keith Borer Consultants is a leading name in Forensic Science Consultancy and Expert Witness services.  We are looking for a dynamic self-starter who is passionate about imagery and wants to start a career as a forensic scientist and expert witness specialising in imagery analysis and facial/object comparison evidence.

The position on offer is full time, based at our office in Durham and comes with on-the-job training that will be tailored to need and experience. 

Duties will include

  • Communicating directly with customers to establish requirements and provide estimates
  • Devising investigation and examination strategies
  • Acquiring imagery of people, places or objects or conducting site surveys where measurements or line of sight assessments are required
  • Conducting analysis of photographic and video evidence utilising the fundamental principles of imagery analysis
  • Preparing written reports which are accurate and easy to understand
  • Reviewing the findings and reports of colleagues
  • Advising Counsel, preparing joint expert statements and presenting evidence at Court
  • Assisting in progressing towards ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Contributing to wider company practices, such as auditing and test witnessing

Who we're looking for

To be considered for this role you will likely have a forensic or imagery focussed degree, a passion for investigation, be organised and diligent, self-motivated, organised, and able to take responsibility for your own workload.

You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a critical thinker and have good attention to detail. The ability to work efficiently and effectively, irrespective of deadline, is essential.

The standard working week for a full time employee is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday with hours to be agreed between 08:00 and 17:30. Travel throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and occasionally further afield is to be expected; flexibility will be required to accommodate this.

A full UK driving licence is required.
